Papr is made and run by Pearson Byrnes ("we"). This page explains what happens to your information when you use it.

Your files

Papr opens and edits your PDFs, documents and spreadsheets in your browser. They are never uploaded to us, and we cannot see them.

What we receive

• Messages you send us. The contact form sends your name, email address and message through Web3Forms, so that we can reply. We use them only for that.
• Standard web requests. Papr is hosted by Netlify, which receives standard request data, such as your IP address and browser type, when you load the site.

We do not run analytics, use tracking cookies, or sell or share personal information.

Optional downloads

The first time you use OCR, your browser downloads language data from cdn.jsdelivr.net or tessdata.projectnaptha.com. The first time you use Translate, it downloads a translation model from bergamot.s3.amazonaws.com (usually through usepapr.com). These providers see standard request data; the contents of your files are never part of these requests. Everything else, including fonts, is served from usepapr.com.

What stays on your device

Papr keeps your work in your browser's storage on this device: PDF sessions and annotations, documents and spreadsheets, a recovery copy of unsaved changes, which document you had open last, your preferences, and downloaded OCR and translation data. A PDF that was password protected when you opened it is stored encrypted with its password. It stays until you delete it in Papr or clear the site's data. If you use the camera to add a picture, the picture stays in your browser too.

Children

Papr is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly receive their information.
