Your file is opened by this browser tab, and that is as far as it goes.

There is no Papr server that receives your documents. Opening, editing, OCR and export all happen on your device, which is why there is nothing to sign up for.

Two features download data the first time you use them: OCR fetches a language pack, and translation fetches a language model. Your document is never part of those requests.

Is it really free?
Yes. Every feature is free to use. There is no trial and no account.
Do my files ever leave my device?
No. Papr opens and edits them in your browser; there is no upload step.
What do I need?
A current browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) on a computer or a phone. There is nothing to install.
Where is my work kept?
In your browser's storage on this device, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
