How to Add Links to PDFs Online Free

Add clickable call-to-action areas, source links, or table-of-contents jumps directly in your PDF. Papr supports both web URLs and internal page links.

Step-by-Step: Adding Links

Step 1: Open the PDF

Open the file where you want the clickable area to appear.

Step 2: Choose the Link Tool

Open Insert and select Link.

Step 3: Draw the Clickable Area

Click and drag over the text, button, or region that should become clickable.

Step 4: Set the Destination

In the link dialog, choose either a web URL (https://...) or an internal page jump (page:N handled automatically by the UI).

Step 5: Update Existing Links

Select an existing link area and reopen it to change the destination later.

Step 6: Export and Test

Export the PDF, then click the link in your PDF viewer to confirm it opens the right destination.

Tips

  • Use page links for internal navigation when bookmarks are too heavy-weight
  • Cover a generous click target so the link is easy to hit on touch devices
  • Always test both external and internal links after export
