How to Use the Edit Text Tool
Need to fix a typo or replace wording in a PDF? Papr's Edit Text tool lets you replace existing text directly in the document, while keeping processing local to your browser.
Before You Start
Edit Text depends on OCR text data. If your page hasn't been OCR-processed yet, Papr prompts you to run OCR first.
- Shortcut:
Shift+E - Selection: click one word, or Shift+click to extend selection
- Apply modes: Apply replacement, Delete text, or Cancel

Tips and Notes
- Run OCR on both pages in split view: this keeps edit targeting accurate.
- Use Shift+click for cleaner replacements: replacing full phrases often looks better than editing one word at a time.
- Review alignment before export: adjust wording length if text wraps oddly.
